Matthew is co-founder of Midlige Richter, LLC. His practice focuses on representing institutional and individual medical providers in actions to recover unpaid or underpaid claims.

Prior to forming Midlige Richter, Matthew focused his practice on the representation of the insurance industry in the defense claims for medical expense benefits. His early representation of the insurance industry in the highly regulated and complex No Fault arena afforded him unique access into the insurance industry’s efforts to deny medical providers proper reimbursement. Matthew’s “behind the curtain” knowledge and experience of the insurance industries’ tactics have allowed him to maximize his clients‘ recoveries of otherwise improperly withheld benefits.

Matthew was selected, and currently serves, on the Advisory Council to Forthright Solutions, the private entity contracted with the State of New Jersey to administer the No Fault Arbitration process. As an Advisory Council member, he represents the Provider Community in evaluating and hiring the Dispute Resolution Professionals “(DRPs”) who decide the 50,000+ arbitrations filed each year. Matthew further advocates for the Provider Community to ensure that all rules enacted by Forthright are equitable to prevent the industry from gaining any unfair advantage in the arbitration forum.

As an advocate, Matthew’s experience and understanding of the system has allowed him to overcome every new and unique effort the insurance industry has manufactured to avoid paying. He has created industry-altering legal theories, and then implemented them to maximize his clients’ revenue recovery, whether they are a multi-hospital health care system or an orthopedic practice choking on a steady stream of insurance denials.
